Experienced Hospital Social Worker required for a hospital based in North Queensland. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of allied health staff. The caseload will cover Palliative Care and part time Acute Rural Generalist Caseload.
- Hours would be 0800-1630 Monday to Friday with 1 hour unpaid break (7.5 hours per day)
- Accommodation can be provided for the candidate for the length of contract
- Up to $1000 (incl. GST) will be reimbursed for one way travel
- Working alongside the hospital-based Social Work team and the community-based Palliative Care team
- Caseload will be varied depending on experience, but could include inpatient adults (including maternity) and paediatrics, palliative care inpatients and community-based patients, Emergency Dept, and outpatient bereavement services
- The service has a large First Nations Australian population, and there will be opportunities to work alongside our team of Indigenous Liaison Officers
- Working amongst the multidisciplinary team which is young and dynamic. The team regularly plan weekend adventures including camping, rodeos, and local events which the candidate would be welcome to join. We have a few gyms in town including a yoga studio and a recently opened reformer pilates studio
Hospital experience is essential, candidates without recent hospital experience will not be considered
This is NOT a mental health role
The Allied Health Services include Cardiac Scientist, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech & Hearing, and Podiatry with a visiting Prosthetics & Orthotics service.
