The Role:

Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or successful assessment at a Senior Hospital Medical Officer/Consultant level, and appropriate clinical experience.

Remuneration Package $223,964

The Nephrology team comprises of 4 nephrologists, 3 renal Advanced trainees and 1 Basic Trainee registrars, who are well supported by highly skilled nursing and allied health team. You will be given a unique opportunity in which to practice nephrology amidst a socially disadvantaged population.

Provision of effective and efficient management and clinical care of referred and allocated patients within the Medical Division, through active participation in a relevant Royal Australasian College of Physicians Specialist training or supervision programme, and provision of clinical supervision to Junior Medical Officers as required.

The Hospital:
The Hospital has 360 beds, servicing a population of over 140,000 it is a diverse population including urban, regional, and remote centres, it is a teaching hospital and is co-located with the Private Hospital. A wide range of specialist services include Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental Health.

Essential:
  • Eligible for general or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or successful assessment at a Senior Hospital Medical Officer/Consultant level, and appropriate clinical experience.
  • High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact positively as a team member in a cross-cultural work environment.
  • An interest in and a commitment to improving Indigenous health.
  • Evidence of commitment to; continuing education, teaching, research, and quality assurance activities.
  • An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
