- Delivers around 600 babies each year, the maternity unit has three birth suites, a 14-bed antenatal/postnatal ward and a neonatal nursery.
- Maternity care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified midwives, doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
Clinical Services
- Provide specialist care in obstetrics and gynaecology across multiple sites.
- Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and surgical procedures.
- Participate in the on-call roster.
- Use telehealth services to support rural areas.
- Train and supervise registrars, junior doctors, and midwives.
- Participate in medical education programs.
- Lead clinical audits, patient safety initiatives, and research programs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and policies.
- Support service planning and improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical governance and risk management.

This is a 70-bed hospital and caters to a regional population of approximately 65,000 incorporating smaller rural/coastal settlements within its catchment area. The hospital provides a range of services including general medicine, emergency medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, high dependency and coronary care, medical imaging, palliative care, pathology and mental health services. In addition, there are additional services delivered via outreach/community-based facilities.

Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
FRANZCOG: Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent eligible for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
