Provide training to anaesthetic trainees and other health professionals and ensure continued evidence-based practice.
The position requires the incumbent to fulfil clinical on call requirements in Anaesthetics practice and undertake on-call in Anaesthetics in line with their approved scope of clinical practice. You will also be expected to provide services to ICU patients under the care of their admitting specialist and remote supervising intensivist.

1.0 FTE SMO Anaesthetics
(FACRRM/SMO with JCCA/RGA)
1.0 FTE Registrar/PHO - (RGA Pathway)
3.0 FTE PHO/RMO - Intensive Care Unit
0.5 FTE Provisional SMO Anaesthetics (RGA Pathway)
1.0 FTE Resident Medical Officer (ICU Rotational)
The Department of Anaesthetics comprises 3 operating theatres and a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit. Procedures are performed in both adults and children, in the speciality areas of general surgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, acute trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology and dental.
The ideal candidate:
- Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthesia for obstetrics is required.
- Scope of Practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years and younger) is desirable.
- An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients.
- An interest in, or experience in, regional anaesthesia and acute and / or chronic pain management.
- Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
- Current registration with/or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.

Skills/Qualifications:
The applicant will hold: Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent acceptable to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and registrable as a specialist with the Medical Board of Queensland.
